TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing the website located at www.calicosmo.org, enrolling in any program, or using any services offered by California Cosmetology Academy ("Academy," "we," "us," or "our"), you ("Student," "Prospective Student," or "you") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our website or services.
2. Programs and Enrollment
2.1 Program Offerings
The Academy currently offers the following state-licensed vocational programs:

Cosmetology — 1,000 hours (Part Time) / 1,600 hours (Full Time)

Esthetics — 600 hours (Part Time)

Barbering — hours as defined in current enrollment agreement
2.2 Enrollment Requirements
Enrollment in any program requires completion of an application, review and execution of an enrollment agreement, payment of applicable fees, and satisfaction of any state-mandated admissions requirements. Enrollment is subject to availability and Academy approval.
2.3 Program Changes
The Academy reserves the right to modify program content, schedules, tuition rates, and hour requirements at any time in compliance with applicable state regulations. Students will be notified of material changes in writing.
3. Tuition, Fees, and Refund Policy
3.1 Tuition and Fees
Tuition rates, registration fees, kit fees, and other charges are set forth in your enrollment agreement. All fees are subject to change for new enrollment periods.
3.2 Refund Policy
The Academy's refund policy complies with California state law and Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) regulations. Key provisions include:

Students who cancel enrollment within three (3) business days of signing an enrollment agreement are entitled to a full refund of all fees paid.

After the cancellation period, refunds are calculated on a pro-rata basis according to the percentage of the program completed.

Specific refund amounts and timelines are set forth in your enrollment agreement.
Students are encouraged to review their enrollment agreement carefully and direct refund questions to the Registrar.
4. Student Conduct
4.1 Code of Conduct
Students are expected to maintain professional conduct consistent with industry standards. This includes:

Attendance and punctuality requirements as outlined in the student handbook

Professional appearance and compliance with dress code policies

Respectful treatment of staff, fellow students, and clients

Compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
4.2 Academic Standards
Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP) as defined in the student handbook. Failure to meet SAP requirements may result in academic probation or dismissal from the program.
4.3 Grounds for Dismissal
The Academy reserves the right to dismiss students for violations of the code of conduct, failure to maintain SAP, non-payment of tuition, or any conduct deemed harmful to the Academy community.
5. Text Messaging and Communications
5.1 Consent to Receive Messages
By providing your phone number to the Academy and affirmatively consenting to receive text messages, you agree to receive SMS communications from the Academy related to enrollment, appointments, program updates, and student services.
5.2 Opt-Out
You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Standard message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
5.3 Other Communications
The Academy may contact you by phone, email, or mail regarding your enrollment, program status, and related matters. You may update your communication preferences by contacting the Registrar.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Academy's website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of the Academy or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. Unauthorized use is prohibited.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Academy services or website. The Academy's total liability shall not exceed the amount of tuition paid by the student in the preceding 12 months.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Monterey County, California.
